ENDORSEMENTS: Tertius Smit is a member for the Protea Black Powder team and is representing South Africa at the World Cup of Black Powder shooting at Bisley in the UK in September 2011. Tertius recently started using our Gunsmithy Best Gunsmith’s Oil and wrote to us: “Dear Bushill RSA, Some feedback regarding your Best Gunsmiths Oil. I normally clean my muzzleloading target rifles with a mixture of hot water, soluble oil and detergent as soon as possible after shooting using a tube and dummy nipple to flush the bore. When the patches come out clean I dry the bore and preserve with a good oil, normally WD40. I check the bore(s) again a day or so later (by running a patch through) to make sure that all is clean and free of rust and these patches come out squeaky clean. I varied my routine by preserving the bore with Best Gunsmiths oil. During my next day check up the patch came out with traces of black residue, definitely not rust, but something that my normal cleaning routine does not remove. Re-oiling the bore with best gunsmith’s oil and checking again a day or so later results in a clean patch. I have checked this a few times now, and the Gunsmith’s oil is extending the effectiveness of my cleaning. Thanks and best regards Tertius” Dankie Tertius! Kobus Visser member of the WP and SA Benchrest team uses our Best Gunsmith’s Oil and gave the following feedback: “I prefer to use Best Gunsmith’s Oil for all my rifle protection and lubrication requirements because it works. I also put a small film of it in my benchrest rifle barrels before I fire it because it definitely reduces crazy cracking in the throat area. Great product!” Dankie Kobus!
